What is Hariyali Teej
Hariyali Teej is observed in the monsoon month of Shravana, on the third day after the new moon; 'hariyali' means green. It marks the day Shiva accepted Parvati as his wife. Swings under trees, folk songs and dances, henna, and gifts from mothers to married daughters (Sindhara) are part of it. Mainly women and girls observe it, in Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. (Source: Wikipedia, Teej)
